	Eine Erinnerung an die Vergangenheit. Ein Schluck Zukunft. Mit einem Erbe, welches bis ins Jahr 1874 zurückreicht, war die Daviess County Distilling Company eine der ersten großen Bourbon-Destillerien in Kentucky. Sie ebnete auch den Weg für mehr als ein Dutzend weiterer Destillerien, die vor der Prohibition in Daviess County eröffnet wurden. Jetzt, zu Ehren der reichen Geschichte des Countys, stellen wir den Daviess County Bourbon der Welt wieder vor. One of the things I've relished over the 20+ years since I started Compass Box is witnessing the power of whisky to make connections between people.

In January of 2009, the ‘I Love Compass Box Whisky‘ Facebook group was formed by Robin Robinson. He started it as a way for people to share their experiences with our whiskies, mindful of our motto, “Share and Enjoy.” In September of 2021 the group hit 1,000 members and today there are many more.

Our long-time friend and partner, Gerd Schmerschneider, has run the Group together with Markus Dröge for many years. Recently, I told Gerd I wanted to do something for the Group so we at Compass Box can connect directly.

Gerd worked with James and me in our Blending Room to make a malt whisky that combines Sherry cask character with rewarding depths of peatiness. The Highlands, Islay and even Mull are represented. „This is the one I love,“ Gerd said of this complex and expressive style.

This whisky can‘t be streamed or downloaded (for that weapologize). As a means of fostering further rewarding connections, however, we hope it will be as successful as Gerd and all who have been involved in ‘I Love Compass Box Whisky‘.
